A desire to take admissions in BHU is within so many young aspiring students whether it be for Diploma courses, UG courses, PG courses, PhD courses and many other courses offered by this prestigious university. And in this procedure, the final step is counselling. The counselling procedure itself consists of various stages. The detailed ‘Offline Counselling Procedure’ according to my experience and knowledge is listed here.
Online preference entry
In the offline mode, the attending of physical counselling takes place. In this, the only online procedure includes filling the Preference Entry Form. While doing so, keep in mind that no option is left untouched or else it will be understood as if you are not opting for that particular subject combination and will not be provided with that choice also if that combination has enough vacant seats to enrol you. Since the preference entry is done online, you won’t be permitted to do any changes to it on the day of counselling; only a review of the same shall be performed by you.
It is of utmost necessity to regularly check the counselling portal of www.bhuonline.in . In this, you will get to see the counselling dates and shifts according to your rank scored in UET. As your rank falls in any of the dates of counselling, you will receive the call letter and you must download the same from your Student Login Portal which you created during the time of form filling for the entrance test. The call letter separately consists of the date of your counselling, documents required, venue, and time. It is notable that you take a print of the call letter too along with the documents at the counselling venue.
Documents required to keep ready with you
- High School (10th) mark sheet
- Intermediate (12th) mark sheet
- Caste certificate and income certificate (according to the requirements)
- PWD (persons with disabilities) medical certificate
- EWS certificate (to claim seat under EWS quota)
- BHU/college employee certificate: for Emp. ward
- Transfer certificate (TC)
- Character certificate
- Migration certificate (if applicable)
- Anti-Ragging Declaration certificate
- Residence-cum-Dossier form
Note a) In these, the certificate requirements may vary according to the candidate.
b) All these documents are required to be kept ready with a self-attested one set photocopy during the Physical Mode of counselling. In case, some certificates are not available at that very period then a declaration for submission is required within the stipulated time.
At the venue of counselling
In the call letter itself, you will be informed that you are selected either for Main Campus or for Affiliated Colleges. Among all the subject combinations available, fill all preferences in your interest order with FMC, DAV, AMPG, VKM, VCW, RGSC campuses/college preference. You may be allowed to edit options only till the admission committee confirms verification. Then you will be called for
the last review of your preference entry form. In case you are selected for any affiliated college, you have to fill a separate form for that very college and sit with a round of interview with the committee over there. The same happens in the Main Campus department procedure. After the counselling procedure and verification is over, you may take back your original documents.
After the physical counselling procedure
You must log in to your student counselling portal and check the status of course/subject allotment, every day from the day you return from the counselling procedure. It will be visible on the allotment page if you are allotted the course/subject. Now, proceed with the payment (online fee or cash, as suitable to you). The fee submission link is available only for 24 hours. The details regarding the fee will be provided at the link or cash counter. If you are satisfied then send an Email for locking the subject/course as mentioned on your portal to the given Email-id. And in case you want Upgradation, wait for the next rounds, the rules to which will be made available if you opt so.
Reporting at the Department/College
The Final Admission Admit Card will be visible at your portal after locking of the subject/course. Now you have to report the Department/College along with the documents required such as Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Marksheet (among which the first two will be kept by the concerned Department/College and the others will be returned) at date and time mentioned in the admit card.
